Are there courses for complete beginners?
Yes! At friLingue you can sign your child up even with almost no knowledge of a language. After two weeks they reach a level that lets them get by in everyday situations.
Is there a placement test?
Yes. After arrival on Sunday, participants take a placement test so we can determine their level and place them in the right group.
How many lessons per week?
20 lessons of 45 minutes in the morning are included in the base package. Optional intensive courses can be added in the afternoon, in groups of two to three on average.
Will my child have their own room?
Generally participants share a room. Depending on the location there are shared rooms, or – for a surcharge – twin and single rooms.
Is food included?
Yes, all our camps in Switzerland include full board: breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. We focus on balanced meals and local produce.
My child has a gluten/lactose intolerance – what should we do?
No problem – our kitchen team prepares an adapted menu. This option is charged CHF 100 per week to cover the extra cost.
Can children swim alone in the lake?
No, for safety reasons no one swims alone. Several supervisors watch over swimming time (usually in the afternoon, sometimes in the evening).
My child is shy and afraid to come alone.
Many young people feel this way and it is completely understandable. Most settle in within the first hours – our team uses icebreakers so everyone feels welcome.
