Family Camp Switzerland: family holidays in Braunwald with language courses & activities
Spend an unforgettable family holiday in Switzerland in the car-free mountain village of Braunwald in the canton of Glarus. Our family camp in the Swiss Alps combines language learning, adventure and relaxation for young and old alike.
While children and teenagers take part in a language camp for German, English or French or improve their maths skills, parents can shape their stay entirely as they wish.
Two options for families
Family Camp: Enjoy a varied holiday together in the mountains. Families can take part in workshops, excursions and evening activities and gather new experiences together. The Family Camp is ideal for parents who want to spend their holiday actively with their children.
Family Workation: Anyone wishing to combine work and family time benefits from reliable WiFi and quiet working facilities on site. While the children take part in the camp programme, parents can work, relax or discover the region at their own pace. The perfect combination of workation and family holiday.
Accommodation for families
Families stay in the same hotel as the camp participants. Depending on your needs, family rooms, double rooms and single rooms are available. Children can stay either with their parents or together with their new friends.
All meals are included for the whole family.
Activities & excursions in the Swiss Alps
Our family camp in Braunwald offers a varied programme with sport, workshops, creative activities, excursions and evening events.
In summer, spring or autumn we explore the Swiss mountains, lakes and cities together. In winter, skiing and snowboarding experiences take centre stage. This creates unforgettable memories for the whole family.
Taking part in the activities is voluntary for parents. You decide for yourselves whether you want to join the camp programme or explore the region on your own.

Braunwald - the sun terrace of the Glarnerland!
The camp in Braunwald takes place in our own hotel.
There we have plenty of space: three terraces, a TV room, common rooms, a restaurant, a small self-service kitchen, toilets on every floor and a 90m² room available exclusively for friLingue activities!
And, on top of that, a games room with table football, a pool table and other games.

Braunwald is car-free and lies above the sea of fog. The only access is the funicular, which runs from Linthal. The journey up takes around 7 minutes.

This is just an example of a summer programme designed for children. Activities and excursions may change, for example in bad weather, or be cancelled due to force majeure or other circumstances beyond our control.
Language tuition
Class size for adults: an average of 1-3 participants per class. The language tuition and the ski or snowboard courses do not take place at the same time as those of the children.
The exact timetable (days and hours) is arranged directly with the teacher on Sunday, the arrival day.
If parents or two adults from befriended families book the same language course and/or the same winter sport (ski or snowboard) in the same week, it is charged only once.
The ski pass is not included in the price, not even for the days on which the ski and snowboard course was booked with us. Ski passes can be purchased on site.
The workshops, excursions and evening activities are WITH the children. You can take part in the activities with the children whenever you like. We do not organise activities aimed specifically at parents.
Workshops
During the summer we offer you a wide range of workshops, including sports workshops (football, basketball, volleyball, etc.), art workshops (painting, drawing, graffiti, dance, etc.), cooking workshops and much more.
Evening activities
The best comes last! Every evening there is action and fun, so you can fall asleep afterwards with a smile on your lips. Our evening activities include: disco night, karaoke night, card and board games, casino, movie night, campfire, zombie and werewolf games, sardines, reverse hide-and-seek and much more.
Excursions
In summer - two afternoon excursions during the week and a full-day excursion on Saturday.
In winter - one excursion during the week and a full-day excursion on Saturday.
Together we discover the sights and beauties of Braunwald.

In Braunwald we offer parents the opportunity to accompany their children during the language stay.
Parents can also book private lessons, work on site or simply use the time to explore the area.
