Language Stay in Dublin
Baile Átha Cliath - the capital of Ireland Dublin lies on the east coast of Ireland and has around 600,000 inhabitants. In Baile Átha Cliath - as it is called in Gaelic, the country’s second official language alongside English - the River Liffey flows into Dublin Bay.
What to do? In Dublin you’ll get your money’s worth no matter what your interests are. Definitely on the to-do list are trips to the nearby fishing village of Howth (where the freshly caught, spicily breaded “cod” at the harbour stall is an absolute must) or to the rugged Wicklow Mountains with their castles and gardens. Excursions to Bray or Glendalough are also highly recommended.
Art & Culture Artistically, Dublin is the home of world-renowned figures such as George Bernard Shaw, Samuel Beckett and Oscar Wilde, to name just a few - but Dublin offers a fascinating history not only when looking back into the past. Numerous museums, concerts and lively quarters such as “Temple Bar” provide entertainment all year round.
Sport For sports fans, a visit to the local rugby club Leinster or a hurling or Gaelic football match is recommended. Both are ancient Gaelic sports played exclusively in Ireland and held at the 82,300-capacity Croke Park (Europe’s fourth-largest stadium).
